Parkano Water Tower

The Parkano Water Tower is a steel structure that dominates the cityscape near Highway 3. Serving as a landmark for Parkano, the water tower was erected on April 1, 1970.

Standing at a height of 40 meters and with a capacity of 600 cubic meters, this distinctive steel water tower is one of the most unique products ever manufactured by Parkano Oy. In the end, only this one tower was ever built, making it a singular piece of the town’s history.

Parkano church

Parkano church was completed in 1800.

The church was built and most likely designed by Salomon Köhlström (Köykkä), a famous church builder from Jalasjärvi. The church and the cemetery next to it were dedicated in 1805. The cemetery has since been expanded.

The altarpiece of the church dates back to 1839, and it was painted by Henrik Grönlund from Urjala.
